The low temperature and big difference temperature between day and night affect a lot on application and storage of ceramic tile sealant. So to ensure the perfect effect and quality, here are the tips we should pay attention to when using ceramic tile sealant in winter.

1: The room temperature should keep +5 degrees at least when using the sealant. If there’s no heating within the new house, the electrical heater will be accustomed to increase the temperature indoors. It will be better to open the air conditioner to raise the room temperature if available.

 

2: Pls keep doors and windows closed during application, in case the cracking and shrinkage caused by low temperature and cool air throughout natural action. Also, the color of sealant will be changing once wet air enters into the mixture, so pls keep this point in your mind.

 

3: If the temperature is too low, you can put the ceramic tile sealant into the hot water before opening it.

(1)The low temperature will increase the viscosity of the epoxy resin and increase the consistency.Even with the electrical caulking gun, part A and part B cannot be mixed very well, resulting in slightly wet and insufficient hardness. So we suggest putting the un-opened ceramic tile sealant under hot water before it is applied. The temperature of hot water should exceed sixty degrees, and the time should be controlled within ten to fifteen minutes, also the mouth of sealant should keep downward and the bottom is upward.

(2)If the temperature is below +8 degrees when removing the excess cured sealant, pls pay attention as follows
First, if the ceramic tile sealant has been totally cured?
Second, Increase the indoor temperature up to +8 degrees above, then remove the excess grout one hour later. If the surface of tiles (like antique tiles) is not smooth, pls do wax or using masking tape before using ceramic tile sealant.

 

4: Storage temperature should between +8-+30 degree
(Warm reminder: can’t instantly modification the storage temperature of ceramic tile sealant, which can cause crystallization of the epoxy resin and become a solid of tiny particles).
